Rainbows

Grief Counseling for Kids

Child Grief Support

In-School Counseling

This is a six week support group for children ages 5 to 13 who have lost a significant person in their lives. The group offers a non-threatening environment of support, allowing the child to discuss his/her feelings regarding the loss and to explore the grief process.

Rainbow includes art therapy, age appropriate activities and sharing periods that are facilitated by a grief counselor. Hospice provdes this program quarterly in the school system and it lasts for six week sessions. In addition, educational materials are given to the child’s family regarding the grief process and children and grief.

Rainbows Christmas

Rainbows Christmas

Grief Counseling at Hospice

Children make an ornament in memory of their loved one during an evening in December. These ornaments are then displayed during the Festival of Trees celebration at Hospice. Children may then take their ornaments home to enjoy during the holidays and remember their loved one. The Rainbows Christmas program is conducted at Hospice.
