Palliative Care

What is the Palliative Care Program?

The Palliative Care Program of Rutherford County strives to provide the best care possible for those with life-limiting illnesses. Care is patient-centered and family focused. This program targets the quality of life issues, comfort care, and symptom management.

The goal of Palliative Care is to relieve physical, emotional and spiritual suffering while improving the quality of life for patients and family members. Palliative care differs from Hospice care. Unlike Hospice, Palliative Care is not limited to patients with a six months or less prognosis.
